Congratulations to our Robotics team on their achievement this weekend. Our team won 3rd Place for the Inspiration Award for The First Lego League Hydro-Dynamics Division.

They were also awarded several medals for successfully completing challenging missions and tasks.

Dear HSI parents,

Re-enrollment period for the next school year 2018-2019 ends on January 12th, 2018. In order to reserve a spot for your student for next school year, make sure to return the paper form given to student along with a copy of proof of residency. All students including 8th graders who want to reserve a spot at High School must submit their re-enrollment form. If the student fails to turn in the form, he/she will have to repeat the lottery process.

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented, Harmony School of Innovation-Houston will begin taking nominations for the students in grades 6-8 for Spring semester gifted and talented screening. Any student who has not been tested this Fall semester is eligible for nomination.

Parent and Teacher/Professional Nomination forms are available at the front office and you may also find the forms in the links below. All assessments given during this window are summative and count towards your student’s second quarter grades. To assist with maintaining optimal testing environment for our students, the campus is closed to visitors. Please be sure that your child is present and prepared to test.

The 8th Grade Transition Academic Night will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 4:15 p.m.

During this event,  we will be giving a College Counseling presentation that will cover several topics such as:

-What is a 4 year graduation plan?

-How to make your child’s 4-years graduation plan through Naviance?

– What are the eligibility requirements to take Advanced level courses?

After the presentation, we will also give a school tour.

Harmony staff, teachers, and administrators have spent countless of hours preparing our students for college and each year approximately 85% of our graduating class enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

But, despite these impressive enrollment numbers, far too many of our low income and first-time college students drop out as they hit financial and circumstantial barriers such as the cost of attending college, that has increased by 36% in the last 10 years. Harmony Public Schools has 5,033 graduates to date and is projected to have 11,686 graduates by 2020, current funding sources are unable to meet even the current demands of these programs. Clearly, additional financial support is required.

We are asking our Harmony community to consider going beyond educational efforts, providing even greater assistance to our graduates through generous Harmony Giving Day contributions to the Harmony College Fund. All your donations will go towards helping our Harmony graduates to complete their higher education dreams and achieve their career aspirations by providing additional scholarships and direct college and career support services.

Harmony Public Schools | Notice of Public Hearing

As part of the December 13, 2017 Board of Directors Regular Meeting, Harmony Public Schools will hold a public hearing to discuss the HPS Schools’ 2016-2017 Financial Rating Systems of Texas (FIRST) accountability ratings.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, located at 9321 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, Houston, TX 77099.
