Character & Our Parents

At HSI, we believe that parental involvement is key to the success and wellbeing of our school community—students, teachers, and staff alike. Each year, we are fortunate to see an increasing number of parents who are eager to support and contribute to the school, demonstrating empathy and understanding for the hard work that goes into running a successful educational environment.

Our parents are vital partners in helping us instill the core values that define our school culture. Through their active participation, they not only support our staff but also help bring these values—such as responsibility, integrity, determination, and empathy—into the home. By living our values both at school and at home, parents play a pivotal role in shaping students’ character and reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom.

At HSI, we’re proud of the strong partnership we have with our parents, and we are deeply grateful for the ways they embody and share our commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and values-driven community.

Our parents play an essential role in making HSI a vibrant and thriving community. Not only do they support us on a daily basis—raising funds for student activities and helping with events such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, and other cultural celebrations—but they also show up in big ways outside of the classroom. From supporting our athletics programs to demonstrating perseverance and determination at games and practices, parents help our students achieve their best. Additionally, parents have been instrumental in organizing and decorating for school dances, creating safe and enjoyable spaces where students and staff can connect beyond the classroom. These events, and so many others, would not be possible without the dedication and support of our parents. Their contributions make every celebration, activity, and gathering a success.
